The New Life Transition House in Kathmandu opened its doors in 2018 to welcome Nepali women back from the red light areas of Kolkata. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood and provides a loving home environment where women can start their healing journey and re-integrate back to life in Nepal. The home is run by a Nepali couple who can provide a healthy 'family' feel, as well as social work professionals to manage the complex needs of residents. The home is within reach of many of the Freedom Businesses that we partner with, making employment and financial independence achievable. Transition is key to the home, and we hope that it will serve as a safe landing place where women can develop the skills necessary to thrive and function in wider society.
